Introducing our staff


  Alan Finchett is our General Manager. He has overall responsibility for all that goes on within ENABLE (SHEFFIELD) and for making sure we have sufficient funds to support the centre each year. He works closely with our Board of Trustees reporting information from learner and staff groups, presenting projected budgets and targets and discussing development ideas and plans. Although these are his official duties Alan is very often found working in the garden with the learners. This is what Alan says ENABLE (SHEFFIELD) is all about!
Kath Finchett is the Centre Manager. She arranges all the training programmes for learners and is reponsible for staff training and development. She is also the person who recruits new learners, works with Social Services, parents and carers and is the main contact for queries and requests.  
Val Warburton is the Deputy Centre Manager. Val works with learners in the SAL section. She also has responsibility as 1st line supervisor for all staff and she is the Fire Warden for the centre. She deputises for the Centre Manager and the General Manager when required.
Mike Mansell is our Financial Administrator. He keeps the books and presents reports as required for our Accountant, the General Manager and Board of Trustees. This is perhaps the most important job - due to his skills of keeping it all right, everyone else can concentrate on doing their own job well.  
Geraldine Frost is the Development Worker in the catering section. She works with learners every day and ensures that the food reaches the table at the correct time. Geraldine also supports the learners through their training programmes.
Sandra McMillan is the Development Worker in our SAL section. Sandra works with the learners in this section encouraging them to try new things and to become really involved within ENABLE (SHEFFIELD). She is always there to help them with a word of encouragement when they feel unsure.
  John Addenbrooke is the Development Worker in the garden area. John encourages learners to participate in all aspects of gardening from planting seeds and young plants and finally through harvesting. His teams can be found working in the vegetable and herb garden or the polytunnel, greenhouse or the indoor workshop. John also supports learners through their training programmes.
Paul Turner is the Development Worker in our IT Section. Paul delivers an entry level training programme and general IT training for 8 learners each day. The learners are very enthusiastic and Paul encourages them to be able to operate their own computers at home. Paul’s IT expertise is often called for when other members of staff need help.
Michael Lowe is the Development Worker for our Coffee Bar Retail section. Michael brings a wonderful portfolio of experience in catering to ENABLE (SHEFFIELD). He is responsible to market the coffee bar for people of the local community, groups and small organisations. He works with 4 learners each day and, with them, he produces mouthwatering snacks, drinks and a pleasant cosy atmosphere to relax in. Michael is responsible to deliver an approved Customer Care training programme for 20 learners each week.
Christine Ramsey is our cleaner. Christine keeps the centre beautifully clean and she is a good friend for our learners and staff.
