The Bakery

Our new area “The Bakery” is a fully functioning kitchen environment, with the sole purpose to give learners the chance to make and bake a selection of sweet and savoury goodies.

For many years our learners have been wanting the chance to bake things in the kitchen. With dinners being prepared in the morning and clean up in the afternoon there was never much time to use the kitchen to bake.

 

With our new Bakery in operation learners get to utilize this area all day. Now they have much more time to plan what they want to bake, shop for the ingredients and create masterpieces that are either sold here at Enable in our canteen or taken home to be enjoyed with loved ones.

We hope giving the learners that little bit of independence and responsibility in a supervised kitchen setting may encourage them to take their new found baking and cooking skills and use them at home.
