Hi there, I am Louise, I started at Enable (Sheffield) as a volunteer at the beginning of 2014. At the time I was working part time as a supervisor in retail. I felt this wasn’t the career I was really interested in and wanted to take a different route in life. Volunteering at Enable was a great opportunity for me to receive a clear understanding that supporting individuals with learning difficulties was the career path I wanted to pursue. I was overwhelmed at being offered a full time job at Enable after just a few short months of volunteering, and jumped at the chance of becoming an employee of Enable (Sheffield).

 

In 2023 I was given the opportunity to step up to the role of Senior Development Worker and work alongside the Enable management team as well as continuing supporting our learners in our Life Skills House.

I really enjoy working at Enable as it is very rewarding working with individuals with different needs and capabilities. I have a different group of learners on a daily basis so this is an advantage to build a relationship with many learners and no two days are the same.
