Hi I am Mary. I started with Enable as a volunteer in 2009, as it was an industry that I was interested in. I had recently completed my degree in Psychology and Sociology and a graduate diploma in Psychology and was interested in gaining some experience with adults with learning disabilities in order to move my career forward. It was a post that I just loved from the start and found incredibly rewarding. I am so happy when I was offered a full time job a year later and of course I jumped at the chance and I have never looked back. Before this I had a couple of jobs within the catering industry, including management roles, which made me realise that I loved meeting people from all walks of life.

To start with I worked in most areas at Enable and really enjoyed every day that I have been here. Each and every learner is different and can really brighten up your day in every way possible; I really mean it when I say that no two days are the same.

In 2015 I stepped up to the role of Centre Manager, and most recently in 2022 took over the role of General Manager. I have really enjoyed the responsibilities and challenges that running Enable has brought and relish the chance to build and enhance our service in upcoming years, to both our current learners and future learners.
